Major

Computer Science

A major in Computer Science consists of a minimum of 44 semester hours. Depending on mathematical preparation, the student may need to take up to an additional 8 hours (two courses) of mathematics.

A student must earn a grade of 'C-' (1.67) or better in all classes for a major in Computer Science with an average of 'C' (2.0) or above in computer science and 'C' or above in MA 201. Computer Science majors must earn a 'C' or above in CS 160, CS 170, and CS 260.

If a student does not place out of MA 133, then the student may need to take 4 to 8 additional credit hours (one or two courses) from MA 103 and MA 133. Students interested in attending graduate school are encouraged to take additional courses in mathematics in consultation with their advisor.
