English with Creative Writing and Editing Concentration

Program

English majors choose to concentrate in literature or creative writing and editing. Students who wish to pursue more than one concentration should meet with the department chair. The major consists of a minimum of forty (40) semester hours of appropriate course work with a grade point average of ā€˜C’ (2.0) or above, exclusive of EN 104. All majors in English must complete satisfactorily a capstone course.

Writing Electives

Students must take 2 of the following writing courses: EN 203, EN 206, EN 208, EN 211, EN 303, or EN 306.

Advanced Writing Workshop

Take one advanced writing course, either 307 or a stackable version of 204, 205, 208, or 211.

Literature Electives

Students must take two literatures courses. One course must be at the 300-level.
