Gender and Women's Studies Certificate in Business

Students may complete coursework and an experiential learning component that focuses on the role of gender in their primary area of study of Biology, Business, Criminal Justice, or Health Sciences. Students who wish to pursue the certificate should contact the Gender and Women’s Studies coordinator and consult with the instructor in the course from their field of study. The following is required:

Two of the following courses (8 credit)

  • GW 101 Introduction to Gender and Women's Studies
  • GW 102 Introduction to Gender and Men's Studies
  • GW 110 Gender and Social Justice 

One of the following courses (4 credits)

  • EC 321 Economics of Inequality
  • HR 253 Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace

Internship or Research Experience (2-4 credits)

An internship or research experience that allows student's to gain experience in their discipline with the academic component having students apply gender studies' texts, topics, and theories in their practical work.
