This course equips practicing and preservice Illinois educators with instructional methods to support students with disabilities across Kindergarten through age 22. Topics include the history and legal context of special education, characteristics of learners with disabilities, assessment and data-informed decision making, differentiated instruction, inclusive practices, behavior support, collaboration, assistive technology, IEP development, and transition planning. Prerequisite: PS 209 & ED 305
